Mercury's Emerald - for Cancer, Scorpio, Sag

For Cancerians, Emerald should not be worn, as Mercury is a functional malefic for Cancer. He owns the 3rd and 12th houses for Cancerians. Exception to the rule are when Mercury is posited in either Virgo or Gemini or during his periods/subperiods of directional influence.

For Scorpians, Emerald should not be worn. Mars is the Lagna lord and Mars and Mercury are enemies. Mercury rules the 8th house, the most dreaded house in a horoscope. Although some astrologers say that as the 11th lord he may give good effects, we are against using Emerald for Scorpians.

For Sagittarius, Emerald should not be worn. Mercury is a functional malefic as he owns the 7th and 10th houses, tainted as he is by Kendradhipatya and Badhakadhipatya doshas. Exception to the rule is when he tenants the 9th and 10th houses, or during his periods/subperiods of directional influence.
